  1. Dr Simone I have Question regarding to Q 3.c

Consider a directed acyclic network. What is the eigenvector centrality of the nodes?..

Is it just the value of eigenvalue? or we need also to prove or make simple calculation??

    1. Read page 171 in the text. last paragraph on the page

    2. Apparently the question was not as new :)

  2. are the networks directed or undirected? the files dictate that internet and power are undirected and twitter is directed.

    1. Exactly. You may consider (and thus import) twitter as undirected too. But if you do it, please be clear about it in the report.

  3. Professor Simone Silvestri,

It takes a lot of time to visualize the network using gephi with "Force Atlas2". Its been running in my system from the last night and it is still running (for a single network). Can I stop it and take a screenshot? Because it takes most of my system's processing power too!

    Thank you

    1. Can someone please tell me how long does it take to complete a visualization for a single network?

    2. Harish, stop it as soon as the structure is sufficiently clear.

  4. Professor,

In Twitter data-set, the nodes and labels are named using person's names instead of alphabets. Can I change the node's names to numbers while generating graphs and comparing it with other data-sets?

    Thank you

I have little doubt for question 4 (b)?
I compared the there data sets in one graph for
    a) Number of nodes
    b) Number of edges
    c)Average degree of nodes
but for other metrics i can’t put it in one graph ? so is it ok if individual.

    Thanks

    1. See what looks better. You can reduce the range of x-axis if only one network is larger than others.

  6. Professor,

Do we need to use the normalized Y-axis value of degree distribution for log-log plot or just the normal Y-axis values?

    Thank you
    Harish
